Basketball Recap: Palisade Beats Delta for Their Third Straight Win

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Palisade ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They managed a 58-54 win over the Delta Panthers. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Palisade's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Delaney Wright led the charge by going 7 for 14 on her way to 15 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mady Bavor, who made all 6 shots she took for 15 points.

Delta's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Somers, who posted 13 points along with eight boards and five steals. Somers is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Breezy Huff was another key player, putting up ten points along with eight boards and four steals.

Palisade's record now sits at 6-4. As for Delta, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-6.

Palisade didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 43-25 victory against Eagle Valley on the 9th. As for Delta, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-44 win against Centauri on the 10th.
