Softball Recap: Mashpee Falcons vs. Rising Tide
Mashpee extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 4-12. They came up short against Rising Tide, falling 16-5. The Falcons were not able to make up for their defeat to Rising Tide from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Michelle Gonsalves made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played. Ayla Brooks also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
As for Rising Tide, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 16.7 runs this season.
On Rising Tide's side, Alanna Flanders was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Flanders was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
In other batting news, Shelby Ruth was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Hannah Semcken was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
While Mashpee had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
