Basketball Recap: Early Comes Up Short

Early was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 68-64 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cisco Loboes. The Longhorns were not able to make up for their loss to the Loboes from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Early still got an impressive performance from Braiden Brown, who went 9-for-12 en route to 21 points. Rhett Williams was another key player, putting up six points and five rebounds.

Early's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Cisco, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Early will be home for the holidays to greet Comanche at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Longhorns will be up against the Indians' rather soft defense (which has allowed 50.73 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Cisco, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 82-57 loss against Huckabay on the 16th.
