Softball Recap: Eastern Musketeers vs. Austin Eagles
Eastern had to endure a five-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on the Austin Eagles with a sharp 22-3 victory on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Eastern considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
Sidney Patton and Bracie Jackson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Patton struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Jackson tossed an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Patton scored two runs while going 2-for-5, while Jackson scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.
