Softball Recap: Johnsburg Comes Up Short

Johnsburg lost against Marengo back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Skyhawks came up short against the Indians, falling 14-4. The Skyhawks' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Johnsburg saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sarah Nethaway, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Johnsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Marengo, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Johnsburg will welcome Plano at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Skyhawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Reapers have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Marengo, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Harvard at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
