South Effingham hadn't done well against Lakeside recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Mustangs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Panthers, sneaking past 2-1. The win was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Clara Vorel paced South Effingham's offense, picking up 14 kills. Vorel got some help from Leah Magana and her 21 assists.

South Effingham's victory bumped their record up to 36-10. As for Lakeside, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 38-6.

South Effingham wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Effingham County on the 11th. As for Lakeside, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Brunswick on the 11th.
