Baseball Game Preview: Ponderosa Mustangs vs. Highlands Ranch Falcons

The Ponderosa Mustangs will head out on the road to square off against the Highlands Ranch Falcons at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Ponderosa has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Ponderosa took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Heritage, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mustangs had just enough and edged out the Eagles 5-4 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Highlands Ranch came up short against Bear Creek on Saturday and fell 4-1.

Ponderosa has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Highlands Ranch, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.

Ponderosa took their victory against Highlands Ranch in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
