Basketball Recap: Champlain Valley Union Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Champlain Valley Union won the last time they faced St. Johnsbury Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Redhawks managed a 59-55 victory over the Hilltoppers. The win was some much needed relief for the Redhawks as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Connor Dubois had an outrageously good game as he went 11-for-15 en route to 24 points and five boards. Those 24 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Owen Scott, who posted ten points.

Champlain Valley Union was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They are 7-2 when they've passed the ball that well.

Champlain Valley Union's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for St. Johnsbury Academy, they dropped their record down to 3-14 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home.

Coming up, Champlain Valley Union will challenge Colchester at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Redhawks will be up against the Lakers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.07 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for St. Johnsbury Academy, they will face off against South Burlington at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hilltoppers will need to watch out since the Wolves have now posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
