Basketball Recap: Burns Takes a Loss

Burns was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 70-40 loss at the hands of the Lander Valley Tigers. The Broncs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in December of 2022.

Burns lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Christian Genho, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. Those 14 points gave Genho a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Medley, who posted 14 points and five rebounds.

Burns' loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Lander Valley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

Burns will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Big Horn at 12:00 p.m. on January 11, 2025. Lander Valley also won't see the court for a while: their next contest is against Cody at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Cody will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Lander Valley surely won't give up without a fight.
