Basketball Game Preview: Edisto Cougars vs. Hampton County Hurricanes

Edisto is 2-8 against Hampton County since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Edisto Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Hampton County Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Edisto beat Hunter-Kinard-Tyler 48-44. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Meanwhile, Hampton County entered their tilt with Battery Creek on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They enjoyed a cozy 59-43 victory over the Dolphins.

Hampton County's win came from a few key players Edisto will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jaylen Singletary, who made all 5 shots he took to post 14 points. Another player making a difference was Darius Brooks, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 14 points.

Edisto now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Hampton County, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.

Edisto came up short against Hampton County in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 45-36. Can Edisto avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
