Volleyball Game Preview: Johns Creek Gladiators vs. Pope Greyhounds

Johns Creek hasn't had much luck against Pope recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Gladiators will challenge the Greyhounds. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Johns Creek sitting on ten straight victories and Pope on five.

Johns Creek is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They put the hurt on Habersham Central with a sharp 3-0 win.

Meanwhile, Pope hadn't done well against Newnan recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Greyhounds walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Cougars.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-12, 21-25, 25-10.

Pope's win bumped their record up to 30-8. As for Johns Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 23-9.

Johns Creek came up short against Pope in their previous matchup back in August of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Gladiators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
