Baseball Recap: False River Gators vs. Maurepas Wolves
False River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They fell 9-6 to the Maurepas Wolves. That's two games in a row now that the Gators have lost by exactly three runs.
Josh Ramagos put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Preston Guiliory was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Wyatt Orilion was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.
False River's record is now 0-13-1. As for Maurepas, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season.
False River will challenge Liberty Magnet at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Liberty Magnet is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Maurepas, they will take on Covington at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
