Smiths Station is a perfect 8-0 against Russell County since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Panthers will host the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Smiths Station has 12 straight victories, Russell County has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Smiths Station's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Brewbaker Tech 10-0. Considering Smiths Station have won ten games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Brewbaker Tech from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Sara Munguia led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Russell County lost 6-1 to Chattahoochee County on Thursday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Russell County came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 135th in Alabama, while Chattahoochee County are ranked 312th in Georgia).

Smiths Station's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those five matchups. As for Russell County, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
