Basketball Recap: Zumbrota-Mazeppa Comes Up Short

Zumbrota-Mazeppa lost against Byron back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars took an 89-71 bruising from the Byron Bears. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Bears are ranked tenth).

Zumbrota-Mazeppa's defeat dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Byron, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-2.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Byron, they will be playing at home against Pine Island at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
