Basketball Recap: Coral Shores Comes Up Short

Coral Shores lost against Key West back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Coral Shores Hurricanes came up short against the Key West Conchs, falling 57-36. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 688th, while the Conchs are ranked 333rd).

Tramane Scott had a dynamite game for Key West, putting up eight points along with 14 rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kameron Roberts, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds.

Coral Shores dropped their record down to 2-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Key West, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-6.

Coral Shores will welcome MAST Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Coral Shores is facing MAST Academy at the right time seeing as MAST Academy is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Key West, they will head out to challenge South Dade at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Key West is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season.
