Basketball Game Preview: North Surry Greyhounds vs. West Stokes Wildcats

The North Surry Greyhounds and the West Stokes Wildcats will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Surry will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Last Thursday, North Surry earned a 47-38 victory over Reagan. Given the Greyhounds' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Raiders are ranked 265th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, West Stokes played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 64-29 defeat at the hands of Surry Central. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Golden Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

North Surry's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for West Stokes, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Everything came up roses for North Surry against West Stokes in their previous meeting on December 6th, as the team secured a 65-25 victory. Does North Surry have another victory up their sleeve, or will West Stokes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
