Soccer Recap: Munford Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Haywood kept up with Munford until halftime on Tuesday, but afterwards: not so much. The Cougars' defense stepped up to hand the Tomcats a 4-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Munford, who have now won three matches by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Haywood with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Eli Magan (2), Branden Scott, and Lukas Wignes.

The victory snapped Munford's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-4-1 record. As for Haywood, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Munford will take on Covington at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Haywood, they will square off against Dyersburg at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
