Basketball Recap: Spirit Lake Takes a Loss

Spirit Lake lost against Western Christian back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Spirit Lake Indians received a blow as they fell 73-59 to the Western Christian Wolfpack. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Wolfpack are ranked third).

Spirit Lake's loss dropped their record down to 17-4. As for Western Christian, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-3.

When Spirit Lake and Western Christian next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Spirit Lake will try to stop Emmetsburg's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Western Christian will square off against Sioux Falls Christian and their 14-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
