Indianapolis Lutheran and Speedway are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Saints will face off against the Sparkplugs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Indianapolis Lutheran is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Indianapolis Lutheran lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Triton Central, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's game. The Saints blew past the Tigers 7-1 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Saints have posted against the Tigers since May 21, 2022.
Ryan Redding spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Hudson Mills was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Nate Hughes was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Speedway was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They fell just short of Park Tudor by a score of 3-1. The Sparkplugs haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Speedway's loss dropped their record down to 6-14-1. As for Indianapolis Lutheran, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.
Speedway's pitching crew better be locked in on Tuesday. Indianapolis Lutheran hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. It's a different story for Speedway, though, as they've been averaging only 0 home runs. Will they be able to keep Indianapolis Lutheran in the park?
Indianapolis Lutheran took their win against Speedway in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-0 score. Do the Saints have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Sparkplugs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
