Volleyball Recap: Chattahoochee Cougars vs. Wheeler Wildcats

It was a proper cat-fight when Chattahoochee duked it out with Wheeler on Thursday. The Cougars fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Chattahoochee sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-11, 8-25, 25-20.

Elise Martinez paced Chattahoochee's offense, picking up seven kills. Martinez got some help from Isabella Podesta and her 13 assists. Charlotte Laskos controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Chattahoochee's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10-1. As for Wheeler, their win ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-11.

Looking ahead, Chattahoochee will venture away from home to square off against St. Pius X Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wheeler, they will welcome Mt. Bethel Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
