Softball Recap: Emerson Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Emerson and Lovejoy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Emerson had to settle for second. They came up short against the Leopards, falling 7-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mavericks have suffered since April 26, 2024.

Emerson's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8-1. As for Lovejoy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 22-11.

While Emerson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
