Manitowoc Lincoln had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Appleton East Patriots. This was payback for the Ships, who suffered a 2-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Manitowoc Lincoln had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-17, 15-10.

Abby Weidmayer paced Manitowoc Lincoln's offense, picking up 21 kills. Weidmayer got some help from Cora Foster and her 17 assists.

Appleton East's loss came despite strong showings from Izzy Mead and Addison Kiekhaefer. Mead had 11 digs, while Kiekhaefer had ten assists and five digs.

Manitowoc Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 16-14. As for Appleton East, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-20.

Manitowoc Lincoln didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Luxemburg-Casco on the 4th. As for Appleton East, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Notre Dame Academy on the 4th.
