Baseball Recap: Christian Fellowship Takes a Loss

Christian Fellowship had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 1-5 to make it four. They came up short against the Crittenden County Rockets, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rockets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-1 back in March.

As for Crittenden County, with the victory, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-9. They not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 18th (when they won 23-1).

For Crittenden County's part, Drake Young made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, Young posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Asa McCord was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Hudson Stokes was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christian Fellowship will head out to face off against Fulton County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Crittenden County, they will venture away from home to take on Madisonville-North Hopkins at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Rockets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Maroons have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
