Middleton put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Sugar-Salem Diggers a 16-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Luckie Grenke was a standout: she scored three runs while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Natalie Miklancic was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.

Middleton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .704. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sugar-Salem only posted an OBP of .250.

Middleton pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Sugar-Salem, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Middleton will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Gooding at 3:00 p.m. As for Sugar-Salem, they will take on Grangeville in a tournament on Saturday.
