Softball Recap: Baker's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It was a good run, but Baker unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 7-4 to the Fairhope Pirates. The Hornets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pirates earlier this season, when they won 7-2.

Baker saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabrielle Peterson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another was Maddie Stuart, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Baker suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 19-8. As for Fairhope, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-8.

Coming up, Baker will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Robertsdale at 7:00 p.m. As for Fairhope, they will be taking part in a tournament against Spanish Fort at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
