Sylvan-Lucas has gone 9-1 against Lakeside recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Knights. Lakeside took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Sylvan-Lucas, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Sylvan-Lucas was able to grind out a solid win over Thunder Ridge, taking the game 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Sylvan-Lucas easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Lakeside came up short against St. John's/Tipton Catholic on Tuesday and fell 2-0. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Lakeside ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-21.

Sylvan-Lucas' victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Lakeside, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's matchup: Sylvan-Lucas has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 4.5 aces per game. However, it's not like Lakeside struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Sylvan-Lucas beat Lakeside 2-0 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
