Baseball Game Preview: Hampshire Whip-Purs vs. McHenry Warriors

Hampshire is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will face off against the McHenry Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Hampshire is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Last Tuesday, Hampshire earned an 11-7 win over Wheaton North.

Ari Fivelson was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Lucas Mazur was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

Hampshire kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McHenry). They blew past Larkin 14-2 on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

The win made it two in a row for McHenry and bumps their season record up to 6-1-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Hampshire, they pushed their record up to 11-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.
