The Hialeah Educational Academy Biggie will face off against the Brito Panthers at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Hialeah Educational Academy had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Sunset on Wednesday. Hialeah Educational Academy blew past Sunset 10-1.

JOSHUA CARDOSO was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, JOSE AVILES and ANDREW PEREZ did most of the damage at the plate: AVILES scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while PEREZ scored a run while going 2-for-3. BRIAN BOLANOS was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Brito had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against Coral Reef on Monday as Brito made off with a 10-3 win.
Like Hialeah Educational Academy, Brito also got a great game from a two-way player: Samuel Castro. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Castro was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Brito let Noah Nevarez and Raivon Pinder loose on the outfield. Nevarez got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Pinder got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Hector Santos, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Hialeah Educational Academy's record now sits at 2-0-1. As for Brito, their record now sits at 1-0.
Hialeah Educational Academy might still be hurting after the 18-4 loss they got from Brito when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Hialeah Educational Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
