Tips, flips and catches that the guys playing on Sundays couldn't duplicate.

What a year for high school football.

Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) extended its winning streak to 54 games en route to being crowned national champion. Longtime Texas contender DeSoto finally broke through to win a state title and St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) parlayed a brutal regular season schedule into postseason success.

Top recruits like Najee Harris, Cam Akers and Tate Martell lived up to their star billing.

New stars like J.T. Daniels, Trevor Lawrence and Re-Al Mitchell emerged.

But incredibly none of those players or teams made the cut for our Top 10 High School Football Plays of 2016. That's a testament to just how off-the-charts unbelievable these plays had to be in order to make our year-end look at the top highlights.

Topping the list out of Tennessee is one of the most incredible Hail Mary passes we've seen at any level of football. Back on Oct. 7 in a 31-24 loss to Montgomery Bell Academy (Nashville), Brentwood Academy connected on a 57-yard prayer as time expired in the first half thanks to a heads up play by junior Camron Johnson.

Brentwood Academy lost that night but came back to beat MBA a month later in the state championship game.

See that play along with the rest of our Top 10 above.
