Shallowater had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They strolled past the Idalou Wildcats with points to spare, taking the game 61-46. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Wildcats are ranked 813th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Shallowater's victory bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Idalou, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-13.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Shallowater is set to face off against their familiar foe Littlefield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Idalou will square off against rival Muleshoe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
