Baseball Game Preview: Milpitas Trojans vs. Los Gatos Wildcats

For the second straight game, Milpitas will face off against Los Gatos. The Trojans will challenge the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Milpitas has struggled recently with 16 losses in a row, while Los Gatos will arrive with 13 straight wins.

Milpitas came up short against Los Gatos on Wednesday, falling 17-2.

For Los Gatos' part, Chase Oberthier looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Los Gatos got a massive performance out of Jayden Thomas, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs Thomas has posted since back in February. Will Temple was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Los Gatos hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in seven consecutive contests.

Los Gatos' victory was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Milpitas, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-18.
