Basketball Recap: Althoff Catholic Triumphs

Althoff Catholic can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 38-37 photo finish over the Marquette Catholic Explorers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 42-37 back in December of 2024.

Althoff Catholic got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gabby Dalke out in front who went 5 of 9 on her way to 14 points. Dalke is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Reece Distler was another key player, putting up four points in addition to 12 rebounds and five assists.

Althoff Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Marquette Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Althoff Catholic will head out to take on Gibault Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marquette Catholic, they will square off against Jersey at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
