Softball Game Preview: Bishop Ready Silver Knights vs. Whitehall-Yearling Rams

Bishop Ready is on a six-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Whitehall-Yearling a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Bishop Ready Silver Knights will be playing at home against the Whitehall-Yearling Rams at 5:15 p.m. Bishop Ready has given up an average of 12.1 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bishop Ready lost 19-9 to Grandview Heights on Tuesday.

Ana Sanchez was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Wohrle, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Whitehall-Yearling got the win against Franklin Heights on Wednesday by a conclusive 14-8. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Taylor Stace was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with five runs and two stolen bases. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Emma Moore was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

The victory got Whitehall-Yearling back to even at 6-6. As for Bishop Ready, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bishop Ready has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Whitehall-Yearling struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Bishop Ready took their win against Whitehall-Yearling in their previous matchup on April 2nd by a conclusive 17-6 score. Do the Silver Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
