Basketball Recap: George County Rebels vs. Greene County Wildcats
George County fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Greene County on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 74-70 to the Wildcats. The Rebels just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.
Leading Greene County to victory were Quinton Parker and Cordarius Molten. Parker dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds, while Molten went 5-for-12 en route to 14 points along with seven assists and seven steals. Molten has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 21 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Julaine Graves, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards.
George County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Greene County, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-6.
George County will take on Wayne County in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels will need to watch out since the War EaglesLady War Eagles have now posted at least 55 points in their last six games. As for Greene County, they will be home for the holidays to greet Presbyterian Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
