Liberty Christian takes loss despite strong efforts from Chuka Akpom and Easton Hupp

Recap: Liberty Christian Warriors vs. Panther Creek Panthers

After flying high against the Bishop Dunne Falcons on Saturday, the Liberty Christian Warriors came back down to earth. Liberty Christian took a 83-74 hit to the loss column at the hands of Panther Creek on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Saturday (72), Liberty Christian still had to take the loss.

Liberty Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Easton Hupp, who scored 22 points, and Chuka Akpom who scored 19 points. The matchup was Hupp's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brandon Lohmann, who scored six points along with five assists and three steals.

Mario Wooden continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Panther Creek, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Whitehead, who scored 11 points.

Liberty Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Panther Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.
