Basketball Game Preview: Hale Center Owls vs. Bovina Mustangs

The Hale Center Owls will head out on the road to face off against the Bovina Mustangs at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Hale Center is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Farwell just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They were beaten by the Steers 73-39. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Steers are ranked 29th).

Meanwhile, Bovina was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-43 heartbreaker at the hands of Olton.

Bovina's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Hale Center, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.

Hale Center couldn't quite finish off Bovina in their previous matchup back in February of 2022 and fell 45-42. Can Hale Center avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
