 Maloney put another one in the bag  on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They won by a  run and slipped past the Lewis Mills Spartans  7-6. Despite the  win, that was the fewest  runs Maloney has scored all year.
  Stella Cicero spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings every time she's  pitched this season.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Ellie Lopez, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Morgan Pelletier, who  scored a  run while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 Maloney pushed their record up to 5-0 with that  victory, which was their fifth straight  at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 12.6 runs per game. As for Lewis Mills, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
 Maloney will be playing at home against Rocky Hill at 9:00  a.m.  on Thursday. Maloney's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6  runs per game  this season, so Rocky Hill's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lewis Mills, they will be playing at home against South Windsor at 3:45  p.m.  on Monday.
