Santa Teresa hasn't had much luck against Willow Glen recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Saints are taking a road trip to square off against the Rams at 4:00 p.m. The last six games Santa Teresa has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Santa Teresa is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Westmont by a score of 14-12 on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Saints have lost by exactly two runs.
Santa Teresa got a massive performance out of Amaya Williams, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Wasson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Willow Glen strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against Hollister by a score of 6-3.
Alanna Clincy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Katelynn Dilbeck, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Haley Ocumen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Willow Glen hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive matches.
Willow Glen pushed their record up to 20-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Santa Teresa, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.
Santa Teresa suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Willow Glen when the teams last played back in March. Can the Saints avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
