Football Recap: Santa Maria Comes Up Short at Home Against San Marcos

Santa Maria unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 39-0 loss at the hands of the San Marcos Royals. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Santa Maria will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Paso Robles at 7:00 p.m. on September 18. As for San Marcos, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 31-7 win against Westlake on the 14th.
