Basketball Game Preview: Wharton Tigers vs. El Campo Ricebirds

The Wharton Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the El Campo Ricebirds at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. El Campo took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Wharton, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Wharton beat Sweeny 44-39.

Meanwhile, El Campo didn't have quite enough to beat La Marque on Tuesday and fell 41-39. The Ricebirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wharton's victory bumped their record up to 8-17. As for El Campo, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12.

Wharton strolled past El Campo when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 47-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wharton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
