            Baseball Preview: Bolton Bulldogs vs. East Granby Crusaders        
        
		
        
        
            Bolton hasn't had much luck against East Granby recently, but that could start to change  on Monday. The Bulldogs will take on the Crusaders at 3:45  p.m. Bolton has given up an average of 9.2  runs per game this season, but Monday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Bolton managed to slip by Windham RVT the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bulldogs lost  13-7 to the Mighty Tigers on Friday. The Bulldogs' defeat continues a  trend for the  squad, making it five in a row.
 Caden Marcil was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He  struck out six batters over  4.1 innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   six  hits. What's more,  he gave up only three  walks, the fewest he's  had since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  runs and one  double. That  double was  his first of the season.
 In other batting news,  Jackson AmEnde made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  run and one  RBI.  Josh Wagner also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  double of the season.
 Meanwhile, East Granby fought the good fight in their extra-innings  matchup against Stafford  on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of  7-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
 Having lost for the first time  this season, East Granby  fell to 2-1. As for Bolton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
 Bolton couldn't quite finish off East Granby in their previous meeting  two weeks ago and fell  9-7. Can the Bulldogs avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
