Softball Recap: El Toro Comes Up Short

El Toro fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against San Clemente on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tritons by a score of 2-1. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tritons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

El Toro saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Saylor Hinkson, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

El Toro's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for San Clemente, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-5-1.

Looking ahead, El Toro will take on San Juan Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for San Clemente, they will face off against Capistrano Valley Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in San Clemente's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Capistrano Valley Christian has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
