Volleyball Recap: Lakewood Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Lakewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the South Florence Bruins, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

While Lakewood was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into South Florence's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-3, 25-7, 25-17.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Florence to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hailey McManus, who had 31 assists and four aces. McManus is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 27 or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Blakley Blue, who had eight aces.

Lakewood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12-1. As for South Florence, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-12.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Lakewood is set to square off against their familiar foe Lower Richland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, South Florence will challenge rival Wilson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
