Soccer Recap: Griffith's Offense Breaks Out

After low-scoring totals in their previous five contest, Griffith brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They blew past the Portage Indians 4-1 on Saturday. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Griffith were the better team in the second half.

Griffith's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4-1. As for Portage, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Griffith will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against River Forest at 5:00 p.m. on the 8th. This will be Griffith's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Portage, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Crown Point on the 2nd.
