Football Recap: John Battle Takes a Loss + How To Watch

John Battle lost against Holston back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Trojans fell 44-38 to the Cavaliers. Even if the Trojans couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Despite the loss, John Battle still got an impressive performance from Caden Sturgill, who rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 117 yards and a pair of TDs.

Eli Tweed was a one-man wrecking crew For Holston. as he rushed for 164 yards and two scores. Tweed is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 161 every time he's taken the field this season.

John Battle's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Holston, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. John Battle will head out to square off against Central Wise at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Holston, they will venture away from home to take on Honaker at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. This will be the Cavaliers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
