Basketball Recap: Millburn Comes Up Short

Millburn has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 64-60 heartbreaker at the hands of the Montclair Mounties. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (59), the Millers still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Millburn lost on Tuesday, don't look at Chase Plotkin. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 39 points and 13 boards. Quinn Barkley was another key player, shooting 50% from the field on his way to 17 points.

Millburn's defeat dropped their record down to 16-4. As for Montclair, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Millburn didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-43 victory against Livingston on the 5th. Montclair has also already played their next contest (against St. Peter's Prep), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
