Basketball Recap: Goshen Takes a Loss

Goshen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Penn Kingsmen, falling 63-9. The RedHawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-8.

Penn's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jessa Troy led the charge by going 5 for 7 on her way to 15 points in addition to seven assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Hummel, who went 8 for 13 on her way to 16 points and five rebounds.

Goshen's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Penn, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-4.

Goshen will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Concord at 7:45 p.m. on January 11, 2025. As for Penn, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-17 win against Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger on the 27th.
