Softball Recap: Marshall County Has No Trouble Against Centennial

It was a proper cat-fight when Marshall County faced off against Centennial on Monday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Cougars. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Brookelyn Nunley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Zakiya Taylor was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Carliyah Taylor was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Marshall County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Marshall County's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Centennial, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-19.

Coming up, Marshall County will host Zion Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Centennial, they have already played their next contest, a 14-7 defeat against Ravenwood on the 29th.
