Baseball Recap: Blacksburg Comes Up Short

Blacksburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Liberty Red Devils. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Blacksburg saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Neal Thompson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Blacksburg's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Liberty, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Red Devils beat Blacksburg by a score of 6-1 on Friday.
