Baseball Recap: Handley Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Handley waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Ranburne Bulldogs. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Aden Anthony made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Cordan Patterson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Luke Murr, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Handley pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Ranburne, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Handley will take on Heard County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ranburne, they are taking a road trip to take on Haralson County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
